Kosher Hanukkah gift baskets made of beef jerky
A Jerky Munch Chanukah gift is soft, glatt kosher beef jerky in a box, a board or a sampler pack, from $45 to $365. Every one is under the hashgacha of the CRC Hisachdus, and we ship it anywhere in the US.
Chanukah 2026 starts on Friday night, December 4, and the eighth day is Saturday, December 12. Because the first candle falls on a Friday, plan for your gift to arrive by Thursday, December 3.
Chanukah traditions, and where a jerky gift fits
Chanukah is the Jewish festival that remembers the Maccabees and the oil that burned for eight days. That's why the traditional foods, latkes and sufganiyot, are fried in oil, and why families light the menorah each night.
Gifts are part of how families celebrate Hanukkah, from gelt for the children to a box for the hosts. A certified kosher gift basket lets you share the joy of Hanukkah with someone who keeps kosher, with nothing for them to check.
Sending a gift basket to a whole office? Kosher corporate gifts work the same way: sealed, certified, and the same hechsher on every box.
Kosher gift baskets by budget
- Under $50: a three-flavor sampler (Sweet, Spicy, Must-Try or Mystery) for $45, or the Personal or Heart board, 4 oz for 1 to 2 people, for $48.
- $50 to $100: the Gift Box with 4 bags for $65 or 6 for $95, the Mini Taster with all ten flavors for $75, a 6 pack of jars for $75, or the Small board for 3 to 5 people at $85.
- $100 to $200: the Medium board for 6 to 10 people at $140, the 10-Flavor Sampler at $150 with free shipping, or the Large board for 12 to 15 at $195.
- $200 and up: the Extra Large board for 15 to 20 at $250, or the Jumbo Party board for 25 to 30 at $365. That one is for the Chanukah party.
- Not sure: a gift card, from $50 to $360.
A gift for each of the eight nights
Chabad.org notes that "During Chanukah it is customary to give gelt (money) to children," and that some families give gelt each weeknight. A small gift a night works the same way.
The Mini Taster has ten mini bags, one of every flavor. That's one for each night of Chanukah, with two left over, for $75. The 6 pack of jars is six 0.75 oz jars of one flavor, small enough to hand out one at a time.
Hanukkah gift ideas for each person on your list
- A host: the Personal board or a three-flavor sampler. Both arrive ready to put out.
- A neighbor or a teacher: a sampler or a jar. Small, sealed and easy to accept.
- Clients or a whole office: Gift Boxes in bulk, or a board for the office party.
- The family you're visiting: a Medium or Large board for the fleishig meal.
- Someone who has everything: the 10-Flavor Sampler. A full bag of every flavor, shipped free.
Why jerky instead of a chocolate gift
Many kosher gift baskets for the Festival of Lights are filled with chocolate, rugelach, baked goods, dried fruits and a bottle of kosher wine. The family getting yours has probably seen a few already, and chocolate is often dairy.
A jerky basket is the meat one. Many families eat dairy foods on Chanukah too, so think of jerky as the snack for the fleishig meal or for between meals, next to the brisket and the latkes. It's ready to eat the moment the box is open.
Adding dairy chocolate to the same gift? Some families prefer meat and dairy items packed separately, so keep them in their own boxes.
How to build your own kosher Chanukah basket around jerky
Sending a gift basket you put together yourself? Start with the jerky, then add only sealed, certified kosher food gifts.
- Start with the meat: a Gift Box or a three-flavor sampler sits in the middle of the basket.
- Add pareve extras: pareve food is neither meat nor dairy, so it goes with either. Dried fruit, nuts, crackers and pickles are the usual picks. Check each one for a hechsher.
- Keep the traditional foods for the table: latkes and sufganiyot are fried in oil for the Festival of Lights, and they're best eaten fresh, not shipped.
- Skip anything homemade or opened: many kosher homes won't use food without a known hechsher, however well it's made.
- Add a card: it's the part of a thoughtful gift that costs nothing.
Or let us do the packing. Every Jerky Munch gift arrives sealed, certified and ready to give, which is the point of sending kosher-certified products in the first place.
What makes it one of the safe kosher gifts
- It's certified kosher and glatt, under the hashgacha of the CRC Hisachdus.
- The meat is Alle or Solomon's shechita.
- Every bag is sealed with the kosher symbol printed on it, so the person receiving it can check it themselves.
- It's all beef, a kosher food with no pork, no cheese and nothing that needs a second look.
A sealed, certified gift is the safe choice for a client, a neighbor or a host who keeps kosher, even when you don't. If you're not sure which hechsher they use, ask. Ours is the CRC Hisachdus. New to it? Our guide to kosher gift ideas explains the symbol to look for.
Shipping a Chanukah gift on time
- We ship nationwide by USPS and UPS. You choose the carrier and the speed at checkout.
- Orders placed before 2pm Eastern usually ship the same day.
- Bag orders of $150 or more ship free, and the 10-Flavor Sampler ships free by standard shipping.
- Carriers don't promise a time of day, especially in winter. A Friday delivery may not arrive before Shabbos, so pick an earlier date.
- Near Lakewood? We deliver locally too.
Even the Postal Service flags it this year: "Please note that Hanukkah (Dec. 4 - Dec. 12) is earlier this year so please adjust accordingly." By our reading, the USPS holiday send-by dates are built around Christmas, so don't rely on them for Chanukah.

Questions about kosher gifts for Chanukah
When is Hanukkah 2026?
Chanukah 2026 begins on Friday evening, December 4, with the first candle. The eighth and last day is Saturday, December 12.
When should I order a Chanukah gift basket?
Early. Aim for it to arrive by Thursday, December 3, the day before the first candle. Orders before 2pm Eastern usually ship the same day, and the time on the road depends on the carrier you pick. For a firm date, call us at 732-784-7554.
What goes in a kosher Hanukkah gift basket?
Usually sealed kosher treats: chocolate, rugelach, dried fruit, a challah, or kosher wine for the Shabbos of Chanukah. Ours is the meat one, gift baskets filled with kosher beef jerky that's ready to eat upon delivery.
Mixing in dairy products? Pack them separately. And for special occasions after Chanukah, the same boxes work all year.
Is beef jerky a good Hanukkah gift?
Yes, for anyone who eats meat. It's different from the usual chocolate and cookies, it's ready to eat, and it fits any budget from $45 up.
Can I send it to someone who keeps kosher?
Yes. It's glatt kosher under the CRC Hisachdus, and every bag is sealed with the symbol on it. If you don't know which hechsher they keep, ask first.
Do you have corporate Chanukah gifts?
Yes. Gift boxes, samplers and boards all work for clients and staff. Call or WhatsApp 732-784-7554 to order in bulk. We make Rosh Hashanah and Purim gifts too, plus Kosher for Passover jerky, so one call covers the year.
