Jerky Munch's sweet flavors are the easiest place to start if you have only ever had the dry, tough kind of jerky. Certified kosher meat, made in Jackson, New Jersey under the hashgacha of the CRC Hisachdus, and tender enough that the glaze is the thing you taste rather than the chew.

There is very little spice at this end of the range, which is what makes it the safe on-the-go snack to keep in a bag.

The sweet flavors

• Maple Bourbon. Made with pure maple. The richest of the range and the one people come back for.
• Teriyaki. Sweet and tangy, the classic. If you are buying for someone whose taste you do not know, this is the safe one.
• Asian Glaze. The mildest sweet in the range.
• Sweet Chili. Sticky-sweet with a small amount of heat behind it. Sits on the line between this collection and the spicy one.
• Hickory Barbecue. Smoky first, sweet underneath. Slow-smoked rather than glazed.

The Sweet Sampler is $39 for three 2 oz bags: Barbecue, Sweet Chili and Teriyaki. It is the cheapest way to find out which direction you like before buying a full pack.
